In 1960 I married Judy Klimek of Alexandria.  Our children were born while we lived on the farm,  which I operated until 1968. After attending Alexandria Technical College for accounting, I worked at Ludke & Co/Henry's Foods for nearly 40 years.

David & Susie ( Botzet ) Lusty

After graduation I, Susie Botzet Lusty, went to work in Minneapolis as a bookkeeper for a wholesale house and worked there for four years.   After my mother passed away, I came home to be with my Dad and worked at the Brandon Grain Elevator.  I worked there until our first son was born. While living in the cities, I had the privilege to room with two of my classmates LuAnn Roers and Florence Bitzan who are no longer with us.  Good times and memories will never be forgotten.

I got married in 1961 to Dave Lusty of Miltona. We have three children, Brad, Bob and Barb.
Left to Right: Brad and wife Roxann,  Bob and wife Rochelle, Barb & husband Tom Randall.
Roxann and Rochelle are sisters.

We were dairy farmers until 2005 and now crop farm and raise Norwegian Fjord horses.  I started working for our second son who has a packaging and shipping business and am still employed there as office manager.

Grandkids & great grandkids

Every year in April we attend the Horse Expo at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, to help promote the Norwegian Fjord Horse breed. We also go to Blue Earth  for the Fjord competition.  I don't do much of the driving but my husband enjoys it.

We went to Texas this past winter for a couple of weeks.
It is hard to get away when you have animals.

Have not had time to retire yet.

Bill in the 6th grade in 1951

After school I worked at the Armour Packing House in South St. Paul for five years. The next thirty-four years I spent working for John A. Dalsin & Son Inc.,  which is a roofing and sheet metal company. The last seventeen years I was the head superintendent of the company.

Our family picture was taken at the 100th birthday party for Lorraine's mother, Helen Gergin. Helen is sitting in the middle.

We have five boys and eleven grandchildren. We built a home on Lake Aaron in 1982 and retired there in 1995. Have done lots of golfing over the years, but have hung that up.

Still go hunting and fishing.
Evidence of this are the mounts in our house.

Janice (Roers) Olson

First Grade riding the bus

"My sister from Texas came home to visit Mom when she turned 50 so we had a surprise party for her and dressed up like 'old people' (some of us already are!).  Her birthday is October 28th so we included our Halloween traditions while growing up of stringing up doughnuts in the doorways and having a race to see who could eat theirs the fastest and dunking for apples in the old bread pan filled with water.  It was a blast.  As you can see some of the costumes were hilarious!"                    --Jeanne Kramer
